Location

The National Center for Scientific Research "Demokritos" is situated on the foot on Mount Hymittus at the outskirts of Aghia Paraskevi, a suburb of Athens, and is about 12km to the north from downtown Athens. It covers an area of 600 acres in a nice forest of pine trees.

How to come

Demokritos is served by bus B5, which travels from Larissa Railway Station (downtown Athens) to Aghia Paraskevi Square and back. It is very close to the church of Prophet Elias, at the intersection of streets Neapoleos and Patriarchou Gregoriou.

There are two Express Buses, 694 and 695, coming from the airport and passing through the Aghia Paraskevi Square, which is close to Demokritos. There one can change the bus for B5.

The other way to come from the airport is by a taxi. Depending on the trafic, the duration of the trip is about 20 - 40 min. The taxi fare is around 15 €.
